Ten miscellaneous proposals
!3 (merged) has some obvious typo fixes. Beyond those (I'm looking at a printout of 3efcf5aa from the OSI, the designed one, OSI-DelayedOpenSourcePublication-v2.pdf ):
- Consider putting a version number or SHA in the final document (in addition to the date).
- It's odd to have two Executive Summaries (pp. 3, 4-5). Consider renaming the second to "Introduction"?
- The header on page 7 should be "Early History", not "Executive Summary".
- "on the associated company's web site" (p. 10)—Link?
- "The Linux Foundation noted" (10)—Consider moving the URL to a section note rather than including it inline. Possibly also the fsl.software URL on page 14, and the two URLs on page 18 (CC report on springing licenses and Kyle's post).
- "Terraform, Vagrant, and HashiCorp Vault" (11)—Why is only the last of these prefixed with "HashiCorp"? I suggest either removing the word HashiCorp, or moving it before Terraform (cf. section note 26).
- "Below is a table of some" (12)—How about "sixteen" instead of "some"? Cache the count to save some computation. ;^)
- "rel. +4 years" (10)—I first tried to interpret this as "relative date 4 years in the future," it took me some effort to get to "release date + 4 years." Is there room in the final layout for the whole word? "release +4 years" or even "release date +4 years" (two lines?)? If not, at least a section note on the first instance?
- "DragonflyDB [...] +5 years" (10)—Should this be "release date +5 years" like the others? If not, a section note to explain the difference?
- "Disclosure:" (13)—I like this disclosure. However, is this the best place for it? Sentry is mentioned in the (first) Executive Summary and in the Acknowledgements (§ 8). Perhaps this note should be moved to the first mention of Sentry in the document, on page 11?
